Mayor Daniel Rivera announces today, with community partners, a Business Guide for the City of Lawrence, which offers a summary of Government Financial Support resources and opportunities for business owners and employees amid the COVID-19 emergency. “Our small business community is the bed rock of our economic life,” said Mayor Dan Rivera. “Small business keeps our community alive. Now more than ever, we need to support them. Our Business Guide will offer financial resources for both our business owners and their employees during this time of uncertainty and help keep our business community afloat through the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Things are changing rapidly, and we will update our Businesses Resource List as often as possible. The Federal Government is moving slowly, but more money is coming. The city will keep track of businesses and their needs as best we can with support from partners like Lawrence Partnership and EforAll, as well as advise businesses on how to keep employees on payroll. Independent workers and those who use 1099 as well as small business owners can apply for unemployment. Business owners or employees with questions should call the Lawrence Business Support Hotline at 978-921-8106 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com .
