Lawrence Police responded to the Lawrence General as a 25 year old Haverhill man was dropped off at the Emergency with gunshot wounds. The vehicle used to drop the individual off at the Hospital was located a short distance away, and was impounded as part of the investigation

Following an investigation by Lawrence Police Detectives, Timothy Yerian, Paul MacMillan, Jesse Fabian and Sean O’Keefe, an arrest warrant was issued for Jose Hernandez age 21 of Lawrence stemming from a shooting which took place at Hudson Ave address. The investigation was conducted over several days consisting of several interviews, as well as a search warrant being executed on the vehicle that was used to bring the victim to the hospital.

Hernandez was located and arrested with the assistance of Trooper D.J Dolan of the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section. He was arraigned in Lawrence District Court charged with assault with intent to murder and several firearms related charges.
