Following information obtained through a follow up investigation by Detective Angel Mejia a Lawrence Man was charged in four recent commercial breaking and entering's in the South Broadway area. The suspect wore a very descript hooded sweatshirt in all four breaks. As part of his investigation still photos of the suspect were shared with the entire Department, as well as on the Department’s Social Media Pages. Officer Robert Brunner of the Patrol Division was able to identify the logo on the suspect's hooded sweatshirt as belonging to a Haverhill business.
Detective Mejia contacted the company, which willingly provided the suspect's identity based on photos presented by Detective Mejia. Additionally, the company provided a South Lawrence address for the suspect. . As Detective Mejia was speaking to the owner of the residence the suspect attempted to flee in a vehicle. The suspect traveled a short distance and jumped from the vehicle attempting to flee on foot. He was apprehended a short time later hiding in a dumpster .
