[ARCHIVED] Lawrence Women Charged in Two Separate Breakiing and Enterings

Upon investigating a breaking and entering on Holly Street in mid-October, Officer Maciel Sandoval arrested and charged Emilsy Mata, age 27, of Lawrence with breaking and entering.  Officer Sandoval’s arrest report provided a comprehensive description of Mata, which was entered into a database by Lawrence Police Crime Analysis Unit.

Detective Carmen Purpora, while conducting a follow-up investigation on a separate breaking and entering on Osgood Street, was able to obtain a description of the suspect by viewing video footage from the home. Upon reviewing Detective Purpora’s report, the Crime Analysis Unit recognized that the description was very similar to Mata.  After receiving this information, it became clear that the physical description was extremely close and the clothing was an exact match.  As a result of Detective Purpora’s investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for the Osgood Street breaking and entering.
