Chief Roy Vasque and the member's  of the Lawrence Police are happy to welcome ten new Officers to the ranks of the Lawrence Police Department:

These new Officers graduated with 25 other new Officers who will be serving in 14 communities across the Commonwealth, having completed the 25 week Academy program.  Today’s graduation ceremony of the Northern Essex Community College Police Academy was held at the College’s Haverhill Campus.   The ceremony began with bagpipes from the Irish American Police Officers Association of Massachusetts and ended with Officers being pinned with their new badges by loved ones. A series of speakers reminded the new Officers of the enormous responsibility that comes with wearing the badges they now wear.  

The ten new Officers will now embark on a 12 week Field Training Program, during which they will be partnered with a Senior Officer. They will be sworn in by Mayor Dan Rivera early next week.
