The Awards Committee has selected Officer Robert Bruner as The Officer of the Month for September 2017. Officer Bruner actions regarding a situation which occurred on August 10, 2017. He responded to the area of Winthrop Ave., for reports of an Auto Accident. Observations made by him led him to suspect the operator was acting in a suspicious manner. After conducting a thorough investigation, you developed probable cause to search his vehicle. You were able to seize over 50 pounds of marijuana, other controlled substances (oils and edibles), and most importantly you were able to recover a firearm. Your awareness and attention to detail that day resulted in the arrest of a subject that represented a danger to the citizens of Lawrence.
