This photo depicts a monument in Lawrence’s Immaculate Conception Cemetery constructed as a tribute to the Irish of Lawrence who during the time of the Great Famine (an Gorta Mór) collected $2,000 (over than $67,000 in today’s money) to alleviate the suffering of the Irish people.
