This was excellent work from the members of the Patrol Division. The Department will continue to aggressively pursue, and bring to justice individual’s who commit illegal acts with firearms.-Chief Roy Vasque
LAWRENCE
This morning
Saturday September 1st the Lawrence Police Department responded to
the Beacon Projects for a report of shots fired. Officers working in the area reported that
they heard approximately 2-3 shots. Officers Paul Plantamura, Leo Silvera,
Alexander Ovalles, Carlos Viera, Edward Mejia, and Sgt. Carl Trombly of the Lawrence Police Patrol Division responded
to the area of Ducket Ave. Shortly
after arriving on scene, Officers encountered a male suspect matching a
description which was provided to the Officers by dispatch. He was accompanied by a female. Officer Plantamura observed a large bulge
coming from the male’s ankle area. Which
upon further investigation turned out to be a Large Black Beretta 40 Cal
Semi-Automatic pistol.
As the
investigation unfolded it was determine that the female
who accompanied the male had purchased the firearm illegally. She admitted to the
purchase after she received her Miranda warnings from the Officers.
Arrested
were: Euridiane Ramirez age 23 of Lawrence and Edgar Torres age 24 of Lawrence.
Both were charged with several firearms related charges.
