OnTuesday September 11, 2018 following a joint investigation by the Massachusetts
State Police Fire Investigation and Explosions Unit, the Lawrence FireDepartment Fire Prevention Unit and the Lawrence Police Detective Unit leads to
an individual responsible for starting 4 fires on Nightingale Court beingidentified. William Larochelle age 51 of Lawrence was arrested and charged with the following:
Burning
Personal Property (couch)
BurningMotor Vehicle (2 Counts- Recreational Vehicle)
Burning
Motor Vehicle (Volkswagen Jetta)
Burningof a Building (#2 Nightingale Court)
Burning
of Personal Property (brush at rear of #2 Nightingale Court)
Aspart of the investigation MPS Trooper Mike Sweet and LPD Detective Harold
Rogers conducted several interviews with witnesses, as well as withLarochelle. Additionally, Trooper Sweet,
Detective Rogers, Fire-Fighter Pat Ruiz, Joe Maloney viewed surveillance videofrom several locations. LFD Captain Pat
Delaney, Lieutenant Michael Armano and MSP Sgt. Bossi of MSP FEIU and deployedhis Accelerant Detection K-9 Maya, as well as Trooper Robert Quigley (MSP CSSS)
were also part of the investigation that led to Larochelle’s arrest.
