On Tuesday September 11, 2018 followinga joint investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Fire Investigation andExplosions Unit, the Lawrence Fire Department Fire Prevention Unit and the LawrencePolice Detective Unit leads to an individual responsible for starting 4 fires onNightingale Court being identified. WilliamLarochelle age 51 of Lawrence was arrested and charged with the following:
· Burning PersonalProperty (couch)
· Burning MotorVehicle (2 Counts- Recreational Vehicle)
· Burning MotorVehicle (Volkswagen Jetta)
· Burning of aBuilding (#2 Nightingale Court)
· Burning of PersonalProperty (brush at rear of #2 Nightingale Court)
As part of the investigation MPS TrooperMike Sweet and LPD Detective Harold Rogers conducted several interviews withwitnesses, as well as with Larochelle. Additionally, Trooper Sweet, Detective Rogers, Fire-Fighter Pat Ruiz,Joe Maloney viewed surveillance video from several locations. LFD Captain Pat Delaney, Lieutenant Michael Armano and MSP Sgt. Bossi of MSP FEIU and deployedhis Accelerant Detection K-9 Maya, as well as Trooper Robert Quigley (MSP CSSS)were also part of the investigation that led to Larochelle’s arrest.
