1. When is trash picked up in the City?

The schedule depends on which part of the City you live in. Please see the Collection Schedule page for the most updated schedule, and a breakdown by street.

2. How can I get a replacement trash barrel?

Replacement trash barrels may be purchased by calling our office at 978-620-3090. At the time of the replacement, the original barrel must be surrendered. If the original barrel was stolen, a police report must be filed and submitted to the DPW at the time of the purchase. Only debit and credit card payments are accepted at this time. 3. What can be placed in my recycling bin?

Common items include: paper (cannot be shredded), newspaper, cardboard (must be broken down), plastic, aluminum cans, and glass containers. The material must be clean and dry in order to be recycled. For more information, please visit the Single Stream Recycling page.

4. How can I get an additional trash barrel?
